Planning plausibility check of a trading company – Global Distribution GmbH & Co. KG
Global Distribution GmbH & Co. KG is a trading company for DJ equipment with annual sales of just under EUR 9 million and around 30 employees. The turnover and the gross profit had been declining for several years. In one market segment, various changes and trends could be observed, which tended to be perceived too late by GD. According to its own plans, the company aimed at increasing sales again. The involved shareholders wanted to have these plans plausibly by HANSE Consulting.
In order to achieve the overall goal, the planning plausibility of the trading company, the following points were worked out by HANSE Consulting in a 4-week analysis and concept phase:
- Financial assessment of the company’s position, special analysis of inventories
- Rough assessment of the market and the competition
- “Financial planning”: transparency about the expected future development of sales, earnings and liquidity
- Joint development of a current planning calculation, illustrated in two “cases” – optimistic case and base case
The company was able to convince its shareholders with this plan.
